BACKGROUND:The Clinical Research Network (CRN) of the Georgia Clinical & Translational Science Alliance (Georgia CTSA) supports the movement of scientific discoveries to practical application by supporting clinical trials and translational science research at a number of Clinical Research Sites including Emory University Hospital, Emory Midtown (formerly Crawford Long Hospital), Grady Memorial Hospital, the Ponce Infectious Diseases Clinic, the Hope Clinic, the University of Georgia, and the Morehouse School of Medicine Clinical Research Center. Given the dispersed nature of the Georgia research community and the goal to actively engage the community in bidirectional research translation, our Clinical Research Network incorporates hospital-based, medical office-based and community-based sites through integration with other programs of the Georgia CTSA, such as the Community Engagement and Research Program. The efficient, flexible and geographically distributed CRN exists to meet the needs of translational and clinical investigators from Emory University, Morehouse School of Medicine, the University of Georgia and Georgia Institute of Technology. The CRN is centralized under the leadership of program director, Dr. Greg Martin of Emory University. Additional background information on Georgia CTSA and the CRN can be found athttp://georgiactsa.org.
