The Division of Pulmonology, Allergy/Immunology, Cystic Fibrosis and Sleep (PACS) at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta & Emory University School of Medicine is expanding to meet the needs of a growing pediatric community. Through a collaborative arrangement between Emory University and Children's, PACS serves as the primary provider of Pulmonology services at our Egleston hospital, and has a thriving outpatient practice near the hospital. The team is now recruiting two full-time, board-certified/board eligible pulmonologists at the Assistant or the Associate Professor level in the Department of Pediatrics to become active members of the pediatric pulmonary clinical care team; contribute to an area in the Division’s pulmonary clinical care program such as CF, severe asthma, pulmonary sickle cell disease, sleep disorders, pulmonary hypertension, aerodigestive disorders, technology dependent children, or chronic lung disease of prematurity; and develop expertise as a clinical educator. Key facts about the Division of Pulmonology, Allergy/Immunology, Cystic Fibrosis and Sleep: • We manage a robust inpatient and outpatient Bronchoscopy program • We have a certified sleep lab as well as a multidisciplinary sleep clinic with pulmonologists and sleep physicians. • Our asthma clinical program focuses on these children with severe asthma and is a multidisciplinary program with both pulmonologists and allergists. This clinical program is strengthened by an outstanding clinical and translational research program in severe asthma • We have full service pulmonary function testing labs in both the hospital and clinic. • We have an exceptional, interdisciplinary program in Aerodigestive diseases staffed by pulmonologists, ENT surgeons, and gastroenterologists • Our Cystic Fibrosis program is second in the country by volume. We follow nearly 400 pediatric patients and more than 270 adult patients. An integral partner in the CF Care Program is a nationally recognized research program in CF ranging from basic CFTR structure and function to health outcomes research • We have a state of the art, interdisciplinary program in pulmonary hypertension • We have an excellent team of Pas and NPs who expand our clinical capability but, even more importantly, take ownership and help lead population management of our most complex pulmonary patients. • We have fellowship programs in pediatric pulmonary, allergy/immunology, and in sleep that attract excellent candidates.
