Emory University Pharmacology - Open Rank Faculty Position in Atlanta, Georgia
The Department of Pharmacology at Emory University School of Medicine invites applications for tenure-eligible Assistant Professor positions. Applicants for other ranks will be considered. Beginning immediately, we seek investigators who will develop an independent and vigorous research program in any area of modern pharmacology and chemical biology. Individuals with demonstrated research interest and accomplishments in chemical biology, molecular pharmacology, systems pharmacology, as well as innovative approaches for therapeutic discovery and disease biology are encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will join a vibrant and collegial basic research department with extensive scientific connectivity with clinical departments and divisions across the campus, including Winship Cancer Institute, the Dept of Chemistry, the Dept of Pediatrics, the Dept of Neurology, Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases, and other research units of the Medical School. New faculty will have immediate access to powerful research infrastructures and core facilities, including the well-recognized Emory Chemical Biology Discovery Center with state-of-the-art high throughput screening capabilities and a pharmacology-focused top ranked graduate training program. Emory Pharmacology is experiencing another phase of growth with the strong commitment of the leadership of the Woodruff Health Science Center and the School of Medicine, who share a focused vision for therapeutic innovation and translational biology.
This position involves:
May involve working with human blood, body fluids, tissues, or other potentially infectious materials; potential exposure to hazardous chemicals; working with radioactive materials or devices. or working with animals.-Candidates must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree in a relevant field of study, postdoctoral experience, and a demonstrated record of research excellence.
