A postdoctoral fellow position is available with the Emory University School of Medicine's department of Family and Preventative Medicine and the department of Spiritual Health in the Woodruff Health Sciences Center to join an innovative group of interdisciplinary scholars conducting research at the interface of spirituality, mind-body practices, and health. This fellow will receive advanced training from a designated Principal Investigator and a team of interdisciplinary collaborators to enhance professional skills and research independence.
Design and evaluate both foundational and interventional research studies.
Prepare and publish scientific manuscripts under the direction of the Principal Investigator.
Teach, train, and supervise research staff and assist with maintaining compliance with Institutional Review Board and other granting and oversight agencies.
The fellow will also have opportunities to assist with teaching research literacy skills and other teaching opportunities, as well as to write grants under the supervision of the Principal Investigator.
In addition, the post-doctoral fellow will join a strong network of support services at Emory and the wider Atlanta biomedical community, which includes grant-writing workshops, career planning, and comprehensive professional development and leadership training.
Highly motivated individuals holding a PhD in clinical psychology, epidemiology, social psychology, sociology, or related fields are encouraged to apply.
Competitive applicants will have expertise and/or aspire to gain expertise in clinical trials research, qualitative research, and implementation science.
Position is a temporary appointment as a research fellow.
The initial appointment is for one year, renewal expected if progress is satisfactory, and funds are available.
Appointments cannot exceed five years.
NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home temporarily during the COVID-19 pandemic, with intent to returnto an Emory University location in the future. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
