The Program Coordinator position provides faculty liaison support to the departmentworking closely with the department chair, assistant program director and all faculty and staff members.


  • Responsibilities include initiating faculty promotion/tenure processes and well as faculty leave and course releases; completing department temporary faculty requests and handling paperwork for visiting faculty and scholars, working directly with ISSS to process individual VISAs when needed.

  • Additional responsibilities include supporting faculty recruitment by ensuring compliance with all Emory search procedures, coordinating advertising for new faculty positions, processing applications and coordinating visit logistics.

  • The position manages all course offerings, creating the course schedule and entering it into Courseleaf; updating the Course Atlas descriptions and placing book orders and requests for desk copies.

  • Other duties include maintaining department records, taking minutes at department meetings, preserving faculty records, preparing the department annual report, assisting with speakers/events, managing department website and other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to the program and two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.


  • Candidates with excellent communication and outreach skills are desired

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks independently with accuracy and attention to detail

  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; experience with OPUS, Cascade, Courseleaf, Canvas, and processing VISAs for international visitors also desired

  • Some experience with web design or web management is preferred or the capacity to learn how to handle department website and ultimately social media

  • Experience working in a college/university setting would be ideal

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University location as needed. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
