JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Primary duties are organizing, coordinating, and planning operational facets of a program and its related activities which include, but are not limited to the following: establishing long-term operational objectives, researching factors that may impact the success of the program, and working with individuals or groups to research and document program requirements in order to provide appropriate input into the development of strategic plans.

  • Develops work plans to accomplish program goals and objectives and monitors progress toward their achievement.

  • Conducts research and gathers information to develop various publications.

  • Develops promotional materials which may include content for reports, briefings, newsletters, grants or other written information related to the program.

  • Assists in developing and coordinating program-related conferences, conventions, or meetings.

  • Monitors expenditures and may participate in the budget planning process and prepare financial reports.

  • May assist in identifying funding resources and developing fund-raising strategies and initiatives.

  • Prepares operational and statistical reports.

  • Conducts training, represents the program at meetings and conferences, and networks with affiliated groups.

  • May supervise assigned project staff, interns and/or volunteers.

  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

  • This is not an administrative support position.

ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Primary duties are to assist in implementing the Artistic Director’s artistic vision for the Emory Chamber Music Society of Atlanta (ECMSA).

  • This includes assisting in scheduling and production of all aspects of all concerts September through May (30+ public concerts each season).

  • These concerts include: the Music for Healing Series (8 per season), 8 public masterclasses, lectures, classes, recordings, rehearsals, and tours both on and off campus.

  • This position will manage contracts, invoices, and payments for performers, lecturers, hotels, commissions, advertisements, caterers, piano rental and tuning, and managing registration for audiences as needed.

  • Provide the necessary amenities for guest performers by reserving hotels and rental cars for out-of-town musicians and lecturers, providing backstage food and drink at some concerts, as well as scheduling and organizing receptions at some concerts.

  • Assist with PR and marketing for all events in coordination with Emory’s efforts.

  • This includes helping to design and produce the annual brochure as well as ads (online and in print) for the season, managing and updating the ECMSA website and email list, producing program copy for each individual concert, and social media presence.

  • Provide monthly financial account reports to the Artistic Director and will attend meetings (usually twice a year) with the Board of Advisors and take minutes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to the program and two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with classical music performance and presentation.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
