Yerkes has 366 staff members, 50 faculty scientists, 42 faculty in residence, and 29 postdoctoral fellows. Yerkes grounds its research in scientific integrity; expert knowledge; respect for colleagues; commitment to diversity; an open exchange of ideas; and compassionate, quality animal care. Supported by $87.9 million in research funding (all sources) in FY 2020, Yerkes researchers are making discoveries in microbiology and immunology; neurologic diseases; neuropharmacology; behavioral, cognitive, and developmental neuroscience; and psychiatric disorders. The center advances vaccine development for infectious and noninfectious diseases, paves the way for earlier diagnosis of and new treatments for illnesses such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, defines the neurobiology and genetics of social behavior to support new therapies for autism spectrum and other disorders as well as drug addiction, and teaches us how interactions between genetics and environment shape who we are. The center follows regulations and guidelines established by the NIH, the US Department of Agriculture, and more. Since 1984, Yerkes has been fully accredited by AAALAC International, the gold seal of approval for laboratory animal care.

A Project Manager is desired that;

  • Coordinates and manages the design and construction of new building and renovation projects.

  • Assists in defining project guidelines, requirements and design/construction criteria.

  • Prepares and administers project budgets; is accountable for the completion of assigned projects within budget.

  • Participates in the selection of consultants and contractors for facility projects, evaluates their pricing and estimates, prepares and administers related contracts, and directs/supervises their activities.

  • Coordinates design and construction efforts among user groups, the operations and maintenance team, the design team and the construction team.

  • Coordinates review of design documents by staff, user groups and county officials.

  • Provides regular project updates and status reports to staff.

  • Oversees project close-out and conducts post-project evaluations.

  • Collects required close-out documentation and forwards to the appropriate areas. May supervise support personnel.

  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture or a related field and five years of experience in management of construction projects, and a general knowledge of building codes and building systems operation and design OR equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.

  • Positions within this classification may require an educational background in engineering, architecture or construction management.

PREFERRED/DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A degree in Architecture
