The Senior Public Health Program Associate position is with PRISM Health, a large and diverse research team that focuses on sexual minority health, within the Department of Epidemiology.

We are seeking a Senior Public Health Program Associate who, under limited supervision, uses a basic knowledge of public health principles to analyze, develop, implement, and promote new and creative strategies and solutions to address public health issues and challenges.


  • Addresses public health issues by providing education, technical assistance, advocacy, public awareness, and research.

  • Works with projects designed to show the prevalence or surveillance of public health issues, including HIV and HepC.

  • Provides technical assistance and project management skills for the projects, including communications with subcontractors and partners regarding blogs, infographics, awareness days, and presentations.

  • Assists with timelines, project trackers, meeting preparations, and media requests.

  • May staff exhibiting booths at conferences and meetings to promote public awareness and engagement.

  • Contributes to routine data collection and data quality control and assurance, and supports efforts to ensure that data standards are maintained.

  • Performs related responsibilities as required.


  • A master's degree in public health, a master's of science degree in public health or health education, or a master's in development practice from an accredited school and three years of relevant applied public health experience.


  • Looking for someone with strong analytical and organizational skills with experience working in public health.

  • Ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of SAS and Excel and experience in data management and analysis.

  • Candidate should be hardworking and a creative problem solver with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience communicating and building and maintaining relationships with various internal personal and external stakeholders.

  • Experience with data visualization would be helpful.

  • Candidate should be good at time management and handling multiple projects at once.

  • Candidate should be a flexible and a team player.

  • Experience with SAS – strongly preferred

  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint – strongly preferred

  • Experience with HIV surveillance systems or data -- preferred

  • Experience with ArcGIS – preferred

  • Masters in Public Health - preferred

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
