We're looking for a skilled and experienced Public Health Program Associate to join the Center for Infectious Disease Modeling & Analytics and Training Hub (CIDMATH). CIDMATH is one of 13 Centers funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to improve outbreak response using data, modeling, and advanced analytics for ongoing and future infectious disease threats and public health emergencies. Our focus includes developing methods, tools, and integrating existing and novel data streams for infectious disease modeling, coupled with offering state-of-the-art training for the modeling community.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under limited supervision, uses a basic knowledge of public health principles to analyze, develop, implement, and promote new and creative strategies and solutions to address public health issues and challenges.
Addresses public health issues by providing education, technical assistance, advocacy, public awareness, and research.
Works with programs or studies designed to evaluate the prevalence or surveillance of public health issues and the effectiveness of targeted interventions.
May provide technical assistance to organizations to include presentations, web-based resources, strategies, and educational forums to address specific public health issues.
May work with clinical study sites on patient recruitment and data collection standards.
Assists with data collection and data analysis.
Contributes to proposals, protocols, data analysis plans, reports, manuscripts, and presentation of study findings.
May assist in designing, developing, and conducting targeted training initiatives.
May collaborate with external organizations to develop action plans and goals to achieve specific objectives.
Performs related responsibilities as required.
ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:
Job Summary:As a Public Health Program Associate, you will play a pivotal role in planning, executing, and overseeing CIDMATH’s contact survey study and wastewater surveillance projects. You will manage projects across multiple teams, communicate with stakeholders, and use your project management expertise to ensure the smooth functioning of these studies. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive individual to make important impacts in an exciting public health research environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning: Develop a system to track progress of tasks and deliverables and create detailed project plans and schedules.
Administrative Oversight: Develop and oversee various administrative processes such as data use agreements, IRB review and approval, and other assigned tasks
Team Leadership: Lead project specific team meetings by assigning tasks and ensuring project goals are achieved in collaboration with PIs.
Communication, reporting and Documentation: Maintain project documentation, create status reports, and provide regular project updates to stakeholders.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A master's degree in public health, a master's of science degree in public health or health education, or a master's in development practice from an accredited school.
NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
