JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • This position serves as one of two regional directors providing oversight and leadership for Building & Residential Services (BRS), the department within Facilities Management providing custodial services.

  • Under the leadership of the Associate Vice President, Facilities Management, is responsible for ensuring that all 24/7, multi-campus custodial services provided within the assigned region meet/exceed Emory's quality and service care standards.

  • Maintains responsibility for at least three departments within the overall BRS portfolio.

  • Responsible for the employee experience within the region, hiring, training, development, equipping, and management of assigned BRS teams.

  • Ensures training for all employees and adherence to all applicable building and life safety codes and regulations regarding hazardous chemicals and power equipment.

  • Provides strategic, logistic, and operational direction on all custodial operations, as well as guidance for all safety, environmental, and customer experience matters.

  • Forecasts staffing, equipment, and resource requirements.

  • Determines when contracted services are needed to support mission objectives, and participates in the sourcing and selection of vendors.

  • Plans, administers, manages, and monitors the capital equipment, operations, and personnel budgets for region.

  • Develops short and long-term goals and objectives for the region in support of the Emory campus and community.

  • Develops strategic models for inventory management; develops and implements strategies for improving the material transfer process.

  • Oversees the ordering of supplies, equipment, materials, and vehicles.

  • Researches vendors, supplies, equipment, and manufacturers to ensure the best quality and value and incorporates employee and customer feedback on major products and equipment choices where appropriate.

  • Analyzes material usage and asset management data, and ensures the timely processing of properly authorized financial transactions.

  • Frequently coordinates with Facilities Management departments, zone supervisors, central shops, and customers.

  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, facilities management, financial management, or related field, and eight years of related experience which includes leadership and financial management, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • A thorough knowledge of work order systems and workflow methods.

  • Proficiency in various computer software and Microsoft applications.

  • Positions within this classification may require a valid Georgia driver's license and an insurable driving record.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
