Emory University Research Protocol Analyst (IACUC) in atlanta, Georgia
Manages the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) protocol submission and approval process for a subset of investigators as subdivided within the office.
Duties include initial review of protocols for completeness, performance of grant to protocol congruence analysis, verification of required research protocol staff training, and verification of completeness of all other required materials such as Emory Health and Safety Office (EHSO) documentation.
Is responsible for routing the protocol through the electronic protocol submission software and monitoring the progress of the submission at all steps through approval.
Acts as the main point of contact for both the research staff and the IACUC reviewers and is responsible for active and effective communication between the parties.
Provides training and assistance to new users in the software system.
Assists in the completion of other aspects of IACUC function, such as post-approval monitoring, semi-annual site inspections, program review and tracking of noncompliance.
Generates internal reports and tracking of metrics for efficiency and process completion.
Actively works with the IACUC, the Animal Program staff and the research community to foster collaborative interactions.
Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree and one year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Knowledge of federal, state and local regulations related to animal welfare and the use of animals in research. Excellent computer skills to include MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access) and data base management preferred. Individuals with previous customer service experience in an academic environment are preferred.
