Emory Healthcare/Emory University Research Specialist - Cancer, Tissue, and Pathology in Atlanta, Georgia
Under general supervision, performs technical laboratory activities related to tissue collection, storage, processing and distribution services for the Winship Cancer Institute Cancer Tissue & Pathology Shared Resource (CTPSR). Works in a multidisciplinary team focused on providing high quality human biological specimens for research. Will perform H&E staining, paraffin block embedding, equipment cleaning and maintenance. Performs technical services such as tissue or blood processing, cutting, staining, transport and shipping of tissue samples and other related laboratory procedures as needed. Standardized data entry required.
May work at different sites within the Emory system. All work performed in accordance with standard operating procedures and regulatory and quality control guidelines. Must complete and pass required training modules, demonstrate knowledge and ability to follow standard processes. Excellent customer service skills required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in a scientific field OR equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
