Emory University Rollins School of Public Health’s Office of Admission and Student Services seeks a Sr. Assistant Director of Admissions to be the primary lead for all virtual recruitment efforts. This role also assists in the development, evaluation and implementation of all other recruitment and outreach efforts for the master-level programs of the school.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Assists in developing, implementing and evaluating recruitment strategies and activities for one or more academic programs.

  • Handles complex admission situations and provides guidance to staff.

  • Attends recruitment functions, reviews applications, maintains contact with prospective students, candidates, and recruiting contacts.

  • Coordinates admission programs for one or more student groups such as prospective students, accepted students, international or transfer students.

  • Recruits students by visiting high schools and college recruitment fairs.

  • Plans itineraries for assigned geographical areas and ensures adequate coverage of priority areas based on historical data.

  • Reviews applications for admission, provides comments, and assigns an admission rating to each application.

  • Recommends which applicants to accept, refer, reject, or put on the waiting list. Conducts information sessions for visiting students and parents and may conduct campus tours.

  • Responds to questions pertaining to admission, housing, financial aid, academic departments and the University in general.

  • Refers students to other sources for additional information.

  • Assists in planning and coordinating special events and alumni volunteer activities to enhance student recruitment.

  • In collaboration with the Executive Director of Admissions, develops a strategic outreach plan which includes analyzing application and geo-demographic data, creating an annual recruitment report and ongoing monitoring and evaluation of initiatives.

  • Serves as a subject-matter expert and resource to the communications team in the development of email communication campaigns, website and social media engagement content, publications, and advertisements.

  • Develops a comprehensive national virtual recruitment strategy with accompanying communications plan.

  • Develops expertise in the Rollins’ CRM, (Slate) and create communications plans aimed increasing applications and yield.

  • Ensures effective use of Slate to coordinate and manage all email communications and event registration; and use available system tools to produce progress reports.

  • Collects data and provides reporting on admissions events, programs, and outreach efforts.

  • Provides regular progress reports to senior stakeholders; ensure that programs produce measurable results that are communicated to the wider School community.

  • Represents RSPH at local and national recruitment events including graduate school fairs, information sessions and conferences.

  • Independently manages, plans and evaluates recruitment events including any virtual components for Fall Open House, Visit Emory (Admitted Student Event), monthly Admissions Information Sessions, and other virtual initiatives (including webinars).

  • Collaborates with colleagues across the school, including the communications manager for admissions, departmental academic advisors, international student affairs, career development, faculty and alumni affairs to assist in establishing the direction and priorities for each enrollment cycle; serve as internal recruitment/outreach consultant for programs.

  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:

  • The focus of this position will be on outreach and recruitment efforts; application review and evaluation is managed within the academic department and therefore is not a part of the job responsibilities.

  • The ideal candidate should feel comfortable presenting to large audiences both in person and virtually.

  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities and enjoy working in a fast-paced, matrixed organization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, education or a related field.

  • Four years of college or university admission or related experience.

  • Effective public speaking skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of five years of admissions and recruitment experience in a fast-pace, higher education environment.

  • An advanced degree in public health (MPH/MSPH), higher education administration or a related field is highly desirable.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift through projects quickly without sacrificing quality.

  • Strong event management skills, particularly with large-scale events serving 400 participants or more.

  • Experience in successfully developing cross-channel social media content to attract and engage a broad range of population segments.

  • Exceptional communication skills as expressed in presentation style and writing.

  • Demonstrated success and experience in data driven decision making.

  • Advanced knowledge of Slate or similar CRM systems for managing admissions and recruitment functions.

  • Experience in effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams and developing partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Marketing and advertising knowledge or interest in acquiring related skills.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
