JOB DESCRIPTION: Analyzes, designs, recommends, and implements micro-based Local Area Networks. Installs and configures Local Area Network servers and related hardware and software. Analyzes, designs, recommends and implements workstation connectivity. Consults with and assists with system enhancements and modifications. Provides technical support, documentation, project implementation management, and design modifications to meet business objectives. Troubleshoots desktop and connectivity problems.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Five years of information technology experience OR a bachelor's degree and three years of information technology experience.

● Ten years of experience providing help desk support to customers in a Windows operating

system environment

● Five years of experience troubleshooting networking connectivity issues

● Five years of experience administering Google Apps

● Must have at least three years experience with each of the below technology:

o Microsoft Office Suite (2007-2016)

o Cisco Meraki implementation

o Windows Servers (2008-2012)

● Motivated to learn and implement solutions to help customers work more efficiently

● Cisco certification a plus

● Be able to lift up to 50 lbs of bulky equipment

The Task Force for Global Health is an Emory University affiliate located in Decatur, GA. Its eight

programs focus on building robust public health systems that serve all people. Program areas include

neglected tropical diseases, vaccines, and health systems strengthening. The Task Force for Global

Health was recognized for its extraordinary contributions to alleviating human suffering with the 2016

Conrad N. Hilton Humanitarian Prize, the world's largest award of its kind. The Task Force is ranked

among the largest nonprofits in the United States due to billions of dollars annually of in-kind

contributions of medicines from major pharmaceutical companies.


Senior Desktop Specialist provides technical support, documentation, and design modifications to meet

the needs of all Task Force programs. Responsible for all desktops and laptops network connectivity,

standard business applications support, printers, copiers, faxes, scanners, and some Windows server

administration. Research and provides technical guidance to customers served. Other responsibilities


● Analyzes and maintains LAN connectivity for the organization

● Analyzes, recommends, and implements laptops and desktops connectivity

● Implements recommended/approved performance tuning solutions for network enhancements

● Supports end-users with desktop applications (Microsoft Office 2007-2016, etc…) issues, file-

sharing printers, scanners, and any other Task Force standard applications

● Keeps all computers current with Windows OS patches and antivirus definitions

● Installs software and hardware on laptops and desktop computers

● Moves computers, phones, and other IT equipment between offices

● Administer and maintains physical servers and databases, web site, virtual servers and storage


● Provides support to local and remote users

● Implements approved security policies based on industry best practices and direction from


● Develops product documentation including system reports, technical and operational

documentation and status reports

● Creates and execute scripts and batch files

● Assist Task Force programs with website development and maintenance.

● Supports end-users with desktop applications (Microsoft Office 2007-2016, Google G Suite,

etc…) issues, file-sharing printers, scanners, and any other Task Force standard applications

● Provides support to local and remote user accounts as well as guests here at the Task Force

● Maintains and upload content to smart signage TV training, train users on creating content

● Supports and trains staff on Google Apps, including Gmail, Google Calendar, Drive, and Sites

● Supports communication and collaboration systems

● Implements and make recommendations to improve technical processes

● Create and deactivate user accounts using Active Directory and Google G Suite administration

● Adds new users to Replicon and deactivate old users

● Meets with different vendors for products or software procurement

● Assist with training and troubleshooting in Replicon

● Provides IT orientation to new staff

● Installs and supports Windows 8.1, Windows 10 and Apple operating systems

● Participates fully as a member of the Task Force for Global Health by contributing, assisting and

participating in projects, activities and initiatives as requested by management
