Coordinates major financial reporting and budgeting activities in the Office of the Controller. Ensures compliance with regulations and reporting requirements.
Coordinates the correction of account balances, resolves funding issues and maintains proper accounting controls and procedures.
Prepares and analyzes statistical and financial reports and supporting schedules.
Reconciles and tracks monthly, quarterly and annual activity of Charitable Remainder Unitrusts, Annuity and Perpetual trusts, and recording and managing related income distribution and other payments.
Manages the University Cash Management Program including allocation for income distribution, bank reconciliations and reporting for senior management.
Tracks and reconciles all University stock gifts and performs critical functions for the year-end financial statement audit.
Tracks and reports other miscellaneous Emory investments to schools, units, and senior management.
Works closely with Emory Investment Management (Operations) and Emory Treasury Offices.
Builds collaborative relationships with customers and peers throughout all levels of finance staff.
Presents work environment concerns/issues directly with supervisors and recommends solutions.
Provides clear and effective communication to internal and external customers on problems, issues, and resolutions.
Reports directly to Director of Endowment/Investment Accounting in completing accounting functions and assisting with on-going Finance initiatives and goals.
May hire, train, and supervise a small staff.
Performs related responsibilities as required.
A bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or finance, and five years of professional accounting and financial experience, preferably in a non-profit or higher education environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
PeopleSoft Financials experience preferred. A CPA is strongly preferred.
NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home temporarily during the COVID-19 pandemic, with intent to return to an Emory University location in the future. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
