Description

As a senior graphic designer, you’ll provide creative project leadership and will collaborate with copywriters, designers, photographers, videographers, strategists, and others to ensure outcomes deliver on creative briefs and align with Emory’s business and brand objectives.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Executes graphic design from concept to final final publication or production.

  • Assists in managing the design of an array of collateral material for publications, web projects, events, and three-dimensional installations such as exhibits and signage, if applicable.

  • Participates in all launch meetings of projects and manages client contact through the production process.

  • Makes recommendations for needed software/hardware and other resources.

  • Makes regular reports to the creative director. Ensures a team approach to project completion.

  • Monitors project budgets and ensures on-time delivery of client jobs.

  • Assists in staff training.

  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • Design and deploy branded content for internal and external communications and marketing needs, including print materials, advertisements, emails, graphics, posters, to meet C&M goals for visual storytelling.

  • Ability to initiate and successfully engage in creative ideation sessions and design sprints

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and other Adobe Creative Cloud programs.

  • Working knowledge of HTML. Familiarity with PowerPoint and Canva is a plus.

  • Previous work experience at an advertising agency, corporate in-house organization, major media organization, or higher education in-house creative team is preferred.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree in graphic design or a related field and three years of experience utilizing appropriate software.

  • An advanced knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator is preferred.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department of work. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
