The Goizeuta Business School is looking for a Senior Manager of Human Resources to join their team. This position reports to the Divisional Director of Human Resources and will serve as the next level leader to the Director.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Manages the Human Resources function for a large division or business unit.

  • Ensures employment, compensation, employee relations and affirmative action practices comply with organization and legal requirements.

  • Develops and implements training and employee recognition programs.

  • Establishes, reviews and updates organizational job descriptions.

  • Ensures the staffing needs of the division are met by projecting needs, interviewing and hiring employees to fill vacant positions and resolving staffing issues.

  • Prepares and advises staff on job reclassifications, new position requests, promotions/demotions and salary determination.

  • Provides guidance on organizational restructuring.

  • May assist with preparation and monitoring of division's/business unit's budget.

  • Serves on and provides input to internal and external committees and represents the department within the organization on Human Resources matters.

  • Designs and generates reports.

  • Maintains records and files according to established procedures.

  • May administer department payroll.

  • May hire, train and supervise staff.

  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS: In addition to the duties outlined above, the Senior Manager, Human Resources may be required to:

  • Manages team of GBS Human Resources staff and directs daily tasks.

  • Manages GBS Human Resources office operations.

  • Manages the internal student hiring and internship process and makes recommendations for continued improvement.

  • Participates in the planning and administration of department and project activities.

  • Collaborates with Faculty Affairs to manage Faculty HR functions for the school.

  • Works with Divisional Director on Employee Relations related matters as appropriate.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or a related field.

  • Six years of human resources experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology or a related field.

  • 3-5 years of management experience.

  • Experience as an HR generalist.

  • Experience working in higher education with staff, faculty and student employees.

  • Experience handling employee relations investigations.

  • Experience streamlining HR operations.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects.

  • Ability to work in an environment through change and shifting priorities.

  • Experience processing faculty pay transactions.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to leverage technology to improve business processes.

  • Experience with PowerPoint, Excel, PeopleSoft, Compass Financials, Kronos, and iCIMS.

  • Demonstrated ability to act with integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.

  • Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders throughout the organization.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
