Reporting to the Senior Director for Clinical Partnerships and Placement, the Senior Program Coordinator will oversee the pre-licensure clinical placement team’s daily operations. The Coordinator will ensure placements are secured, placement dashboards are up to date and assist Placement Coordinators in solving placement issues and developing solutions to mitigate barriers. Master’s degree preferred.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Designs, implements, and coordinates operational facets of a specific program. Develops strategic plans and objectives that ensure the program's continued success, and develops evaluation methods to assess outcomes.

  • Pre-licensure clinical placement team oversight

  • Supervises, coaches, develops, mentors and conducts performance reviews for Placement Coordinators

  • Evaluates the quality of work completed by each Placement Coordinator and provides constructive feedback to improve quality and efficiencies

  • Ensures Placement Coordinators are securing placements and communicating in a timely manner with students and faculty

  • Works closely with Senior Director in securing new pre-licensure clinical sites for all pre-licensure programs

  • Initiates new contract requests as needed

  • Creates and improves systems for placement organization

  • Conducts weekly meetings with pre-licensure placement team to speak about placements, new partnerships and barriers

  • Maintains positive working relationships with faculty and clinical placement partners

  • Manages student and agency clinical placement issues in conjunction with the placement team

  • Ensures placement records are maintained and easily accessible

  • Designs and manages communications plan for clinical partner engagement

  • Analyzes placement data to identify areas for improvement and executes action plan for areas of weakness

  • Manages off track student plans of study

  • Holds pre-semester planning meetings to communicate student roster and placement needs to Placement Coordinators

  • Develops pre-licensure clinical placement plan in collaboration with the Senior Director each semester

  • Assigns pre-licensure Clinical Instructors to appropriate clinical sites after Senior Director hires

  • Acts decisively and respectfully in tense moments and takes initiative to improve situations without supervision

  • Trains new Placement Coordinators

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree in a field related to specified program areas

  • Five years related program management experience, or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior team leadership experience. Leadership training required within 12 weeks if no prior experience.

  • Knowledge of basic hospital organization and hospital/clinical systems

  • Excellent conflict resolution skills

  • Collaborates well with internal and external partners

  • Excellent computer based organizational skills

  • Excellent public relations skills using proper etiquette both electronic and interpersonally

  • Communicates clearly, professionally and calmly with people expressing frustrations

  • Ability to keep updated records and attend to details despite much change

  • Remains flexible to effectively perform job during unexpected situations or changing conditions

  • Ability to reach out to appropriate sources to find information needed to be successful

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home temporarily during the COVID-19 pandemic, with intent to returnto an Emory University location in the future. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
