Emory Healthcare/Emory University Senior Revenue Cycle Analyst in Atlanta, Georgia
We are looking for a candidate to support CPD analytics and EHC precert value stream enhancements and spread. They must be proficient in collecting, analyzing and presenting data using a variety of applications and platforms.
The Senior Revenue Cycle Analyst (Sr. RCA) supports all revenue cycle functions and contributes to overall organization health by leveraging metric-driven methodologies and a variety of data analytic reporting tools to develop sound business intelligence solutions, support business-critical systems, design and implement workflows in accordance with best practices, and proactively audit revenue cycle workflows and outcomes.
This role works closely with the Patient Financial Services and Finance leadership teams to explain drivers and variance among Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), identify departmental goals and develop and deploy metric-based scorecards tracking financial health and revenue performance, department/service line health, and employee performance.
The Sr. RCA maintains a fundamental knowledge of critical concepts related to all revenue cycle functional units, which include: pre-arrival, charge capture, coding, billing edits/denial management, and self-pay collections and must be able to demonstrate and sustain expertise in the majority of these areas.
The Senior Analyst will routinely and independently initiate and lead performance improvement projects within their assigned departments/service lines or across multiple departments/service lines to improve revenue performance and overall organizational health.
The Sr RCA will routinely present their findings and recommendations to the Emory senior leadership team and therefore must master exceptional customer service skills and exhibit a high level of professionalism.
In addition, the Sr RCA must demonstrate all of the following critical competencies: Work independently with functional leaders to advise in the development of department-level, revenue cycle-focused strategic initiatives.
Independently complete proactive and ad hoc analyses of a complex nature that target opportunities in an organized and methodical manner.
With autonomy, proactively audit revenue cycle workflows and deliver value added recommendations to influence behaviors, increase revenue, reduce expenses, and/or improve productivity.
Routinely produce and present insightful business intelligence solutions for revenue cycle leaders and senior organizational leaders that address highly complex revenue cycle scenarios and may require data modeling and data visualization.
The Sr. RCA works with their manager to formulate a plan for professional development, attends educational in-services as appropriate, and participates in professional activities and organizations to maintain knowledge of current trends and practices.
The Sr RCA will be assigned as primary support to one of two specific areas of focus as outlined below and will be expected to demonstrate these specific competencies, respectively: REVENUE CYCLE HEALTH: Demonstrated expertise with critical revenue cycle systems, including the ability to manage and execute change requests of a complex technical nature.
Develop deliverables in direct collaboration with technical architects on enterprise-wide projects. Support the implementation of new systems or system enhancements by gathering and developing requirements, leading user acceptance testing, and designing post-implementation monitoring solutions.
REVENUE CYCLE ANALYTICS: Demonstrated knowledge of critical revenue cycle data points and financial metrics, including the ability to work directly with the Finance team to create data models related to Net Patient Services Revenue (NPSR) and budget projections.
Serve as a primary point of contact for Revenue Cycle Leaders with regard to service line metrics and analysis needs.
Partner with Finance and service line leaders and teams to tie Revenue Cycle metrics to Finance metrics on an ongoing basis.
High School Diploma with nine (9) years of experience in revenue cycle functions; OR any combination of equivalent education and experience; OR successful completion of the TEC Operations Development Program (ODP) with two (2) years of related experience.
Internal candidates currently in the Revenue Cycle Analyst position must have a minimum of 2 years in the current role to be eligible for advancement.
Candidates must be proficient in Excel, Access, Visual Basic and/or other similar database reporting applications.
In addition, candidates should have related experience in a Healthcare setting.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt in Healthcare, CPC, experience with open source or industry-leading proprietary business intelligence software tools (e.g. R, Microstrategy, Tableau, Power BI, SPSS, SAS), experience using AI tools for automation and workflow efficiency.
