Please note: This position is part-time only.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Provides spiritual care to patients, families and staff.

  • Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary health care team.

  • Exhibits understanding of and adheres to inter/intra-departmental and hospital policies and procedures and standards of care for Spiritual Health Clinicians.

  • Supports and participates in the continuous assessment and improvement of the quality of care and services.

  • Participates in continuous collaboration with supervisor, team members, and other health care professionals to promote an environment of care, healing, and professional development.

  • Provides spiritual care to assigned floors, as well as provides spiritual care to families, patients, and staff as part of the night duty rotation.

  • Maintains and enhances knowledge of current spiritual care issues and integrates ideas into practice.

  • Meets all in-service requirements.

  • Delivers competent patient care, integrating infection control and body substance precautions, patient safety, body mechanics, and knowledge of growth and development.

  • Understands and complies with infection control, safety, and OSHA procedures and regulations.

  • When appropriate, provides initial support and/or guidance to members of the healthcare team concerning critical care issues.

  • Responsible for leading worship services as required at each site.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

  • As Associate Chaplains, they are expected to embody the values and mission of Spiritual Health, Emory Healthcare and the Woodruff Health Sciences Center, including our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion to create an optimal climate for excellence in clinical care, research and teaching.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must hold a Master's degree from a seminary or equivalent.

  • Experience in human services or ministry, preferably in a congregation or clinical setting, is preferred.

  • Must have functional knowledge of religious principles and practices of the major faiths and be open to working with persons of diverse religious and cultural backgrounds.

  • They will be an accomplished spiritual health leader with a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • APC certified or in the process of being certified as a professional chaplain.

NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice toemployee.
