POSITION DESCRIPTION: Reports to the Associate Vice President for Research Administration Services (RAS) and fiscal leaders of the Rollins School of Public Health (RSPH) and research leaders of the School of Nursing (SON). Manages, leads, and supervises a team of 27 staff performing Pre-Award and post-award activities for the RAS unit supporting these two schools, with a large and complex research portfolio. Oversees hiring, training, supervision, and professional development of all team members, including the assignment of goals and tasks along with successful completion. Works closely with Emory University’s Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) to ensure compliance with grants and contracts regulatory requirements and to confirm that all Pre-Award activities are handled accordingly. Interacts collaboratively with administrators within Emory University’s Office of Finance, Grants, and Contracts (FGC) to ensure all post-award activities are processed appropriately. Communicates with Principal Investigators and team members on a routine basis to ensure the quality of support for the research mission is maintained. Provides consistent and standardized reports to leadership and stakeholders on a regular basis and ad hoc reports, as needed. Monitors team performance relative to accuracy, timeliness, customer service and other related metrics. Performs other relevant duties as required or assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree and 10 years of experience in grants and contracts management, or related field. Master's degree is strongly preferred. Previous supervisory and management experience is required. A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.

Works closely with Emory University's Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements to which grants and contracts are subject to and to confirm that all pre-award activities are handled accordingly. Interacts collaboratively with administrators within Emory University's Office of Grant and Contract Accounting (OGCA) to ensure all post-award activities are processed appropriately. Resolves conflicts between Principal Investigators (PIs) and team members quickly and satisfactorily, or directs team leads and managers to do so. Provides consistent and standardized reports to leadership and stakeholders on a regular basis and ad hoc reports, as needed. Monitors team performance relative to accuracy, timeliness, customer service and other related metrics. Performs other relevant duties as required or assigned.
