JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Provides leadership, ensuring that psychometric assignments are based on faculty member instruction and patient care requirements.

  • Coordinates the resources needed within the Division to provide optimal patient outcomes.

  • Serves as a resource of advanced psychometric procedural knowledge. Responsible for ensuring communication regarding areas of concern to the Division Director and Clinic Manager.

  • Establishes and meets goals in clinical practice, staff development, and appointment utilization.

  • Administers and scores neuropsychological tests under the supervision of a neuropsychologist.

  • Supervises Psychometrists, externs, interns and fellows in neuropsychological test administration.

  • May supervise staff performance.

  • Management and Supervision: Establishes and meets goals in the flowing areas: office management, clinical practice, and education.

  • Identifies the need for revision and evaluates the effectiveness of clinical and office procedures, operational forms, and patient care documentation.

  • Provides and coordinates the resources needed within the Division to provide optimal patient outcomes.

  • Supervises office clerical staff.

  • Evaluates the impact of department and hospital policies on daily operations.

  • Acts as the call center & administrator liaison.

  • Provides supply & office management.

  • Patient Care and Advocacy: Provides clinical services to patients. Administers and scores neuropsychological tests and conducts cognitive rehabilitation under the supervision of a neuropsychologist.

  • Professional Development: Works with manager to formulate plan for professional development. Attends educational in-services as appropriate. Participates in professional activities and organizations to maintain knowledge of current trends, practices, and developments.

  • Staff Resource: Serves as a resource of advanced psychometric and cognitive rehabilitation procedural knowledge. Trains and supervises psychometrists, externs, interns, and fellows in neuropsychological test administration and scoring and cognitive rehabilitation procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, or related field required,

  • Master's degree preferred.

  • Three years of related experience which includes experience administering and scoring psychological or neuropsychological tests.

  • Experience with measuring/tracking clinical outcomes and clinical research is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium Max 25lbs): up to 25 lbs, 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 25 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation, Shift work, Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
