Description
The Workplace Violence Prevention Program Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive workplace violence prevention program across assigned locations at Emory Healthcare. This role ensures a safe, secure, and supportive environment for employees, patients, and visitors by leading proactive measures to prevent and address workplace violence. Responsible for collaborating with key stakeholders, including public safety, human resources, clinical leaders, and quality, to create and sustain a culture of safety. Position requires travel to multiple Emory locations.
Program Development and Implementation
Develop and implement a workplace violence prevention program aligned with federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA and The Joint Commission standards.
Conduct organizational risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies.
Create and maintain policies and procedures related to workplace violence prevention and response.
Training and Education
Design and deliver workplace violence prevention training for employees, leaders, and clinicians.
Develop scenario-based exercises and simulation training to enhance preparedness.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, making improvements as necessary.
Incident Response and Investigation
Lead response efforts for workplace violence incidents, providing immediate support and coordination of follow-up actions.
Conduct thorough investigations in collaboration with HR, Security, and Risk Management, ensuring incidents are documented accurately.
Serve as a subject matter expert during post-incident reviews and recommend improvements.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
Partner with Security, HR, Risk Management, and Clinical Operations to implement cross-functional prevention strategies.
Collaborate with Employee Wellness to provide post-incident support for impacted employees.
Represent Emory Healthcare in external committees and partnerships focused on workplace violence prevention.
Data Analysis and Reporting
Collect, analyze, and report workplace violence incident data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Develop and present metrics and dashboards to senior leadership.
Ensure compliance with reporting requirements for OSHA, The Joint Commission, and other regulatory bodies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree required
A focus in healthcare administration, public health, criminal justice, or a related field preferred
Minimum of 3 years of experience in workplace safety, healthcare operations, risk management, training, process improvement or a related field, with a focus on violence prevention desired
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Include Instructor certification in some form of de-escalation and mitigation assaultive behavior training (i.e. Managing Assaultive Behavior, Crisis Prevention Institute, AVADE, McAfee Institute etc.) preferred
Background in WVP Program development and implementation in a healthcare setting
Prior experience and training in investigation of workplace violence incidents and response preferred
