JOB DESCRIPTION: Plans, directs, manages, coordinates and monitors assigned specific activities and revenue cycle operations. Some individuals in this positing may be responsible for activities related to physicians revenue cycle to include coding, charge capture, billing, collections, and accounts receivable management. Responsible for maximizing reimbursements and revenue enhancement. Serve as a key leader and senior member of the PFS management team. Assists in determining decisions involving revenue cycle standards and performance. The position will be responsible for coordinating and maintaining collaborative relations with appropriate leaders. Performs other related duties as required.
Manages timely and appropriate application of payments and refunds. Closely monitors third party payments for compliance with contractual agreements. Pursues additional payments as appropriate. Oversees and is responsible for Accounts Receivable balance and activity management. Plans, administers and monitors the departmentÂ¿s capital equipment, operations, and personnel budgets; regularly reviews year to date expenditures; and takes corrective action as necessary. Collaborates with finance and clinical leaders during annual budget development to ensure revenue budgets are sound and accurate. Maintain ongoing relationship and communication with Sections on revenue performance to budget.
Manages staff and employee performance. Resolves human resource-related issues, determines staffing needs, interviews and hires staff. Provides ongoing performance feedback, addresses problems, orients and trains employees, verifies competencies and identifies and suggests ways to develop skills. Determines disciplinary, termination and salary actions. Monitors workflow. Develops departmental goals, objectives and performance standards. Meets with other staff members to discuss progress and to develop future courses of action. Establishes, revises, administers and communicates policies, procedures and related forms in accordance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines. Communicates and monitors compliance with regulatory, licensing and accreditation standards. May manage third party vendor relationships and other contractual relationships. Ensures revenue cycle processes are managed timely with proper adjudication procedures. Intervenes with third party entities when necessary.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in healthcare or related field, 9 years healthcare experience or 7 years revenue cycle experience with coding certification, 3 of which must be supervisory OR any combination of equivalent education and experience.
Experience with revenue cycle functions, preferably in both the shared service and clinical specialty environments. Experience with ambulatory care environments and ability to translate and embed standard operating procedures and processes into the clinical environment is preferred. RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CCS or CHDA certification preferred. Coding knowledge and experience is preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 1-10 lbs 0-33% of the work day (occasionally), negligible 34-66% of the workday (frequently), negligible 67-100% of the workday (constantly). Lifting 10 lbs max, carrying of small articles such as dockets, ledgers, files, small tools, occasional standing & walking, frequent sitting, close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.

Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock , Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation , Shift work, Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
