JOB DESCRIPTION: Analyzes, designs, recommends, and implements micro-based Local Area Networks. Installs and configures Local Area Network servers and related hardware and software. Analyzes, designs, recommends and implements workstation connectivity. Consults with and assists with system enhancements and modifications. Provides technical support, documentation, project implementation management, and design modifications to meet business objectives. Troubleshoots desktop and connectivity problems.
Prior experience with audiovisual and collaborative technology configurations for presentations, conferences, and training preferred.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Five years of information technology experience OR a bachelor's degree and three years of information technology experience.
*This is an Exempt position. Employees in this position are paid a salary on a monthly basis and are not eligible to receive overtime pay.

The Task Force for Global Health is an Emory University affiliate located in Decatur, GA. Its eight programs focus on building robust public health systems that serve all people. Program areas include neglected tropical diseases, vaccines, and health systems strengthening. The Task Force for Global Health was recognized for its extraordinary contributions to alleviating human suffering with the 2016 Conrad N. Hilton Humanitarian Prize, the world's largest award of its kind. Ten years of experience providing help desk support to customers in a Windows operating system environment
Five years of experience troubleshooting connectivity issues
Five years of experience administering Google Apps
Must have at least three years experience with each of the below technology: Microsoft Office Suite (2007-2016) | Windows Servers (2008-2012)
Motivated to learn and implement solutions to help customers work more efficiently
Microsoft certification a plus
Be able to lift up to 50 lbs of bulky equipment
Senior Desktop Specialist provides technical support, documentation, and design modifications to meet the needs of all Task Force programs. Responsible for all desktop and laptop network connectivity, Voice Over IP communications (VOIP), standard business applications, multifunction printers, copiers, faxes, scanners, and some Windows server administration. Research and provides technical guidance to customers served. Other responsibilities include:
Supports end-users with desktop applications (Microsoft Office 2007-2016, etc…) issues, file-sharing printers, scanners, and any other Task Force standard applications
Keeps all computers current with Windows OS patches and antivirus definitions
Installs software and hardware on laptops and desktop computers
Moves computers, phones, and other IT equipment between offices
Administer and maintains physical servers and databases, web site, virtual servers and storage environments
Provides support to local and remote users
Implements approved security policies based on industry best practices and direction from leadership
Develops product documentation including system reports, technical and operational documentation and status reports
Creates and execute scripts and batch files
Provides support to local and remote user accounts as well as guests here at the Task Force
Supports and trains staff on Google G Suite Apps, including Gmail, Calendar, Drive, File Stream and Team Drive.
Supports communication and collaboration systems. Specifically RingCentral VOIP, Deskphone, Softphone, Meeting, Conference and Glip set-up and usage.
Implements and make recommendations to improve technical processes
Create and deactivate user accounts using Active Directory and Google G Suite administration
Adds new users to Replicon and deactivate old users
Meets with different vendors for products or software procurement
Assist with training and troubleshooting in Replicon
Provides IT orientation to new staff
Installs and supports Windows 10 and Apple operating systems
Participates fully as a member of the Task Force for Global Health by contributing, assisting and participating in projects, activities and initiatives as requested by management
Zero to 5 percent domestic and international travel
Five years of information technology experience OR a bachelor's degree and three years of information technology experience.
