The Hope Clinic of the Emory Vaccine Center is an international Center of Excellence in clinical and translational research in infectious diseases vaccines, treatment, and prevention. The mission of the Hope Clinic is to conduct human research studies and clinical trials for infectious diseases of public health importance. The clinical studies encompass vaccines, treatments, prevention, community-based research, and laboratory-based translational human immunology. We are currently seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join our research response to the COVID-19 virus.
This is a full-time temporary assignment.
The Nurse Practitioner will (under the supervision of a physician):
Act as an Investigator on NIH, industry-sponsored, and investigator initiated clinical research studies.
Conduct informed consent discussion.
Obtain medical history and physical exams.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
Provide oversight of study participants in outpatient and inpatient settings.
Supervise and mentor research nurses, clinical research coordinators, interns, and students.
Provide occasional evening, weekend, and hospital coverage.
Contribute to writing and developing research protocols, manuscripts, and papers.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Provides primary care to patients.
Assists in the evaluation and treatment of patients.
Conducts patient interviews, and collects and interprets diagnostic data.
May perform physical examinations and specialized procedures under the direction of a physician.
Documents the delivery of care in the individual's medical records.
Provides patient education and trains other health care professionals.
Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
Certified as a Nurse Practitioner.
Licensed as a nurse and approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner by the state of Georgia.
Two years of clinical nursing experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
BLS certification.
Research experience preferred, but not required.
NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
