JOB DESCRIPTION: The Sr. Manager, Business Solutions will focus on technology platform support and project management, with a strong focus around bridging project communication, planning, and execution between the technical and business teams across Emory Healthcare. Performs complex business analysis and data analysis and is highly skilled in the areas of production support coordination, IT focused project management and project management support. Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business systems and user needs. Will present requirements to, negotiate with, and manage technology vendors in collaboration with IT partners and in line with IT governance. Formulates complex systems to parallel overall business strategies. Writes detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer programs. Using reengineering, work flow analyses, etc. to develop techniques and practices to improve the provision of health care services; in conjunction with clinical leaders, develops and implements state-of-the-art care management techniques and approaches for business solutions for shared services platforms. Prepares financial and operational reports and analyses reflecting project progress and trends; makes recommendations or provides conclusions. Works closely with those parties tasked to identify, track, and manage potential opportunities to improve or optimize workflow. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Implements and manages to business project plans, scope of work, timelines, and successfully meets deadlines and project milestones while ensuring that project stays on budget. Responsible for managing the technical and project resources within the department and leading them through project visioning, planning, execution, optimization, and maintenance. Liaison between IT teams, the PFS project office, and Patient Access and technical expert on GECB and any and all other enterprise solutions that the department leverages. In collaboration with Emory IT, manages contracts and relationships with vendors, negotiates contracts and ensures that all solutions are in compliance with standards and requirements set forth by Emory Healthcare.

Responsible for the day to day activities and the overall success of the team, including routine application support, upgrades, and evaluation of current and future technology solutions.

Manages staff and employee performance. Resolves Human resource-related issues, determines staffing needs (project analysts, data analysts, administrative), interviews and hires staff. Provides on-going performance feedback, addresses problems, orients and trains employees, verifies competency and identifies and suggests ways to develop skills. Determines disciplinary, termination and salary actions. Works with staff to formulate plans for their professional development. Attends and coordinates educational in-services as appropriate. Participates in professional activities and organizations to maintain knowledge of current trends, practices, and developments. Provides guidance, leadership, and mentorship to team members.

Engages and communicates clearly and consistently with physicians and practice leaders; maintains solid working relationships. Works closely with operational and implementation teams to manage physician practice expectations across project and improvement processes. Serves as intermediary between physician practices and shared services teams. Able to successfully partner with senior and executive leadership in communicating and maintaining ongoing dialogue during the entire acquisition process. With minimal oversight and supervision, this role will serve as the operational lead on enterprise level projects that span the PGP and Hospitals. Successfully builds, maintains, and leverages relationships across Emory Healthcare that allow for transparent, timely, and respectful collaboration toward mutually set project goals. Develops and manages comprehensive communication plan to all organizational stakeholders (communicating up, across, and down) around project progress, activities, requirements, and involvement needed. Successfully manages communications and creates materials for senior to executive leaders across the enterprise.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in business administration, technology management, healthcare administration or related field required. MBA or other related Masters degree strongly preferred. 3-5 years healthcare related experience in shared services support, practice management, project management, industrial engineering or related experience required; Minimum requirement of 2 years supervisory/manager experience. Prior experience in a physician practice operational setting and/or significant understanding of physician practice data, workflows and service line deliveries preferred. Experience in business modeling and financial analysis to drive business decisions. Strong project management experience a requirement, as well as proven ability to lead and manage independent contributors. Working knowledge of Emory systems and solutions include GECB, Cerner, and shared services technology platforms is ideal. Strong and creative problem solving required, along with solid process improvement experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 1-10 lbs 0-33% of the work day (occasionally), negligible 34-66% of the workday (frequently), negligible 67-100% of the workday (constantly). Lifting 10 lbs max, carrying of small articles such as dockets, ledgers, files, small tools, occasional standing & walking, frequent sitting, close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
