Description
Shift: Varied Days/Shifts
Produces two-dimensional ultrasonic recordings of internal organs and or vasculature using ultrasound equipment to assist physicians in the diagnosis of diseases and in the study of malfunctioning organs.
Prepares equipment and patients for procedures and conducts procedures with proper sterile technique.
Provides quality care to patients having US scans and invasive procedures. Explains procedures to patients/families to reduce their anxiety and to obtain patient cooperation.
Discusses test results with a supervisor or attending physician. Responsible for completing all aspects of patient care documentation as required in imaging services.
Completes procedures in Radiology Information System to ensure billing of exams/procedure.
Prepares billing sheet and is responsible for bar-coding charges into inventory management system.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be a student in good standing within 60 days of graduation from an accredited school of Ultrasound.
Registry-eligible with American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography or American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) in Sonography.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required.
