We are seeking a full-time, AP/CP pathologist to fill a unique position within our institution. The primary responsibility will be to provide general surgical pathology service at Emory Johns Creek Hospital (EJCH). EJCH is a world-class academic medical center located in Johns Creek, GA, just northeast of Atlanta. EJCH has active surgical and oncologic practices that provide diverse specimen types to the laboratory. The case mix consists primarily of gastrointestinal cases, followed by breast, GYN and various other specimen types. The pathologists at EJCH are faculty members of the Emory Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and as such, work closely with subspecialized pathologists at the Emory University Hospital Clifton (EUH) and Emory University Hospital Midtown (EUHM) campuses. Hematopathology cases are sent to our Emory University Hospital Clifton Campus (EUH) and cytology specimens are currently screened there as well, and could be signed out there if needed. This position could also include the Medical Directorship of the clinical laboratory at EJCH if the candidate is interested. As members of the Department of Pathology, there is opportunity to rotate at the EUH or Emory University Midtown campuses to cover a particular subspecialty in surgical pathology and be involved in resident and fellow education. Emory’s Department of Pathology has one of the largest AP/CP residencies in the country, 12 accredited subspecialty fellowships, advanced molecular diagnostic capabilities, and close ties to the NCI-designated Winship Cancer Institute.
The successful candidate will be board eligible or certified in AP/CP and also be eligible for medical licensure in Georgia. Compensation and faculty rank will be commensurate with qualifications.
