Description
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Maintains the safe operation and maintenance of building facilities and has a proven competency in one of the following areas; electrical/wiring, mechanical/HVAC systems, plumbing/pipefitting or Plant Operations/Stationary Engineer. Repairs and adjusts doors, windows, closures, panic devices and locks.
Patches holes, installs escutcheons, repairs ceiling and floor tile as needed to maintain building appearance.
Makes minor masonry and wood repairs. Installs pictures, coat hooks, other wall hung furnishings, and equipment as requested.
Performs preventive maintenance activities, responds to customer complaints, and repairs equipment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A high school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 3 years experience in building maintenance.
Working knowledge in their area of competency of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, Plant operations, structural, or general carpentry.
May require a valid Georgia driver's license and insurable driving record.
Some positions within this classification may require the ability to lift 50 pounds and to bend, stoop, and twist.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (Medium-Heavy) 36-75 lbs, 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 20-35 lbs, 34-66% of the workday; (frequently); 10-20 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 75 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 35 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking; Occasional sitting; Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing); Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.

Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure; Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors; Communicable diseases; Electrical shock; Floor Surfaces; Hot/Cold Temperatures; Indoor/Outdoor conditions; Latex; Lighting; Patient care/handling injuries; Radiation; Shift work; Travel may be required; Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators; environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
