Located 36 miles east of Atlanta on Emory’s original campus in Oxford, Georgia, Oxford College invites applications for an Academic Technology Specialist I
One of Emory University's four schools partnering in undergraduate education, Oxford College provides 950 first- and second-year students of high academic profile an intensive liberal-arts program for the first two years of their Emory bachelors degree. Maintains technologies that support the teaching and learning mission of the University.
Deploys technology hardware and/or software applications via in-person and virtual assistance for students, faculty, staff and selected guests.
Supports and utilizes monitoring tools to troubleshoot incidents and enhance the availability of services.
Participates in the development and assessment of academic technologies and supports learning-based technologies in multiple formats.
Performs equipment refreshes and hardware installations; troubleshoots to identify issues and initiate fixes and resolutions.
Supports campus network access to support computers and mobile devices; coordinates with vendors and contractors to meet customer needs for out-sourced technology support.
Maintains any required auxiliary equipment pools to supplement and/or replace deployed equipment and technologies.
Performs testing, inspection and monitoring to assure established expectations are met.
Conducts orientations and training sessions to build user skills; assists UTS and Emory staff to support back-to-school efforts and related events.
Researches new products to remain current with market trends and recent technology requirements, and provides product recommendations to ensure effective operability and customer satisfaction.
Performs related responsibilities as required.
A bachelor's degree OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Experience with IT, Instructional Technology, A/V Event Support Services, Video Technologies, or other related fields is preferred.
NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
