This position is located 36 miles east of Atlanta on Emory’s original campus in Oxford Georgia, Oxford College of Emory University.

One of Emory University's four schools partnering in undergraduate education, Oxford College provides 950 first- and second-year students of high academic profile an intensive liberal-arts program for the first two years of their Emory bachelors degree. PLEASE NOTE:This is a Non-Exempt position. Employees in this position are paid an hourly pay rate, on a bi-weekly basis.

Weekday evening hours will be required two to three times per week, and the shift start-time will be offset to total an 8-hour workday.


  • Provides administrative support for the Oxford Studies Program faculty and for Performing Arts Center events.

  • Ensures office activities comply with Emory policies and procedures. Responds to incoming telephone calls.

  • Maintains calendars and prioritizes meeting requests for management.

  • Reviews incoming correspondence and identifies items of special interest to management; handles routine correspondence and prepares appropriate responses.

  • Schedules meetings and handles logistics for meetings and special events.

  • Prepares materials for meetings and special events.

  • Initiates, processes, and maintains records and invoices.

  • Keeps management apprised of account status, identifies cost-effective solutions and may authorize expenditures.

  • May monitor or maintain budgets and grants, assist with budget development, and prepare related expense reports and reimbursements.

  • Plans and coordinates travel arrangements.

  • Maintains databases and spreadsheets; may also analyze data and design/generate associated reports.

  • Establishes and organizes filing systems.

  • Oversees ordering and maintenance of office supplies.

  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

Additional Details:

Oxford Studies Program

  • Collaborate with the Oxford Studies Program Co-Chairs regarding content and assist with adding content to the website.

  • Add all faculty and staff users to the website and provide notification of completion.

  • Assist the Oxford Studies Program Chair/Co-Chairs in editing the

  • Create all announcements pertaining to the assignment

  • Faculty Readers: Assist with the organization of OPUS, the online student/faculty portal, by routing the Oxford Studies student submissions to appropriate faculty members according to assignment and grading deadlines.

Events and Studio Arts: Performing Arts / Lyceum Events / Theater

  • Assist with setup of events, supporting staffing needs for the event, and assists with breaking down the event.

  • Process attendance records.

  • Assist with ordering supplies and other items needed by Studio Arts faculty.

  • Support performing arts faculty with performance events by assisting with the following, as needed:

  • Create/print programs

  • Make posters and signs to advertise upcoming events

  • Reserve space and process maintenance request

  • Place catering orders

  • Make photocopies as needed

  • Process expense reports

  • Manage student workers

  • Communicate with guest speakers to make sure requirements are met


  • A high school diploma or equivalent AND five years of clerical or secretarial experience,


  • A bachelor's degree.

  • Proficiency with various personal computer software applications. Positions in this classification may require keyboarding skills.


  • Experience with OPUS, Canvas, or another online student document management system.

  • Experience updating information on a website.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
