THIS POSITION IS ON THE OXFORD COLLEGE OF EMORY UNIVERSITY CAMPUS, 36 MILES EAST OF ATLANTA.

The Assistant Director of Career and Professional Development/Career Coach assumes responsibility for employer relations, recruiting, and all activities related to internships and experiential learning, employment, or other relevant events and programs for Oxford College.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Develops and maintains employer relationships to expand the range of employer recruiting activities.

  • Actively pursues college relations contacts and other hiring sources for students.

  • Networks and recruits with chambers of commerce, employers, and professional associations.

  • Maintains professional document management platforms like Skillsfirst and Focus2, and facilitates methods of presenting students to employers or forging partnerships with alumni.

  • Manages coordination of career events.

  • Oversees communication between appropriate campus departments and participants.

  • Conducts on-going assessment and provides feedback.

  • Designs and delivers communications and marketing materials to students and employers.

  • Organizes and sets annual recruiting calendar, including all deadlines and processes.

  • Schedules dates for employer information sessions, interviews, and fairs.

  • Advises employers on comprehensive marketing strategies, appropriateness of expectations, inclusion of personnel representative, on-site recruiting process, job description, pay or other compensation, etc.

  • Surveys and assesses employer recruiting needs, quality of recruiting services provided, and other employer related data management to improve recruiting program.

  • Develops and enforces policies for employer participation in recruiting program regarding acceptable methods of employer outreach/marketing and diversity recruiting efforts, adherence to office procedures and deadlines, interviewing protocols, offer/accept lead times and incentives, testing practices, ethical and professional conduct.

  • Manages administration of interview schedules.

  • Coordinates with staff to ensure appropriate and efficient delivery of recruiting services.

  • Conducts employer evaluations of services and interviewing experiences.

  • Reviews and acts upon employer evaluations of interviews. Establishes and enforces guidelines for student participation in the recruiting program including recruiting deadlines, procedures, and schedules.

  • Coordinates data management systems for event scheduling, interviewing, and registration.

  • Represents career services in a variety of university, community, and other networking events, visits to employer sites, and hosting organizations on campus for networking.

  • Prepares and distributes employer events and recruitment information calendar to all students and academic departments through a variety of advertising media.

  • Researches and stays informed in national, state and local hiring practices, employment trends, and other labor related issues.

  • Contacts alumni chapters to initiate employer/career services relationships.

  • Develops promotional materials to increase additional employer services including web and career sponsorship, information sessions, mock interviews and resume critiques, hosting workshops, sponsoring receptions, and other programs/events. Attends meetings on and off campus, conferences, and workshops regarding career planning and job search.

  • Assists the Director of Career and Professional Development and other staff with special projects.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in college personnel administration, business, human resources, communications, or related field, and two years of experience in communications, marketing, human resources, promotion, recruiting, or public relations, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
