Located 36 mile east of Atlanta on Emory's historic original campus, Oxford College of Emory University invites applications for an Assistant Director of Student Life.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Coordinates student activities programs and assists with administrative and group advisement functions.

  • Meets with and supports various student groups.

  • Advises student program members and leaders regarding program planning and development, group process concerns, leadership and personal development, budgets, state law, University policy and legal issues.

  • Plans and attends weekly meetings held by various programs.

  • Plans, conducts and supervises special events.

  • Evaluates the success of various programs, groups, functions and special events.

  • Provides input into departmental goals and objectives.

  • Compiles, edits and produces publications, brochures, and newsletters.

  • Maintains required records and documentation.

  • Prepares various operational and statistical reports for management and regulatory agencies.

  • Supervises student staff by orienting, training, and providing performance feedback on an on-going basis.

  • Develops and implements training and development programs for student leaders.

  • Provides informal counseling on an on-going basis.

  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A master's degree in student personnel, higher education administration, counseling, or a related field.

NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
