Emory Healthcare/Emory University Assistant Professor of Studio Art, Tenure-Track in Oxford, Georgia

Oxford College of Emory University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Studio Art at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in August 2024. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in a variety of two- and/or three-dimensional and mixed media approaches, including but not limited to painting, drawing, collage, and ceramics. The area of interest and/or theme of artistic work is open; candidates whose work involves or addresses diverse cultures and identities, explores questions facing individuals and society, and/or can connect and contribute to our local and regional communities are especially encouraged to apply. 

The successful candidate will teach Introduction to Painting and Introduction to Drawing, a first-semester Discovery Seminar (https://oxford.emory.edu/academics/discovery_seminars.html) (on bi-annual basis), as well as courses in their field(s) of expertise, and play a key role in extending and shaping Oxford College’s existing studio art program. The teaching load will be three courses per semester (six courses a year). The position offers opportunities for course development, mentoring students in undergraduate research, and cross-disciplinary collaboration. We seek candidates to join our vibrant campus, who have a commitment to excellence in teaching as well as active engagement in creative scholarship with the potential to involve and inspire undergraduates.
