Located 36 miles east of Atlanta on Emory’s original campus in Oxford, Georgia, Oxford College invites applications for Housing Coordinator. This is a two-year limited position with the potential for an extension. This is a full-time regular status staff position that is benefits-eligible on the first day of employment.
One of Emory University's four schools partnering in undergraduate education, Oxford College provides 950 first- and second-year students of high academic profile an intensive liberal-arts program for the first two years of their Emory bachelors degree. The Housing Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Oxford College residential community including facilities, student concerns, and departmental projects. They will act as the point of contact for students and staff on a daily basis with regard to housing operations.
Reports to the Assistant Director and will assist with occupancy management and residence hall facility management.
Assists the Director with testing, onboarding, and community compact compliance.
The departmental philosophy emphasizes leadership, service, and community building.
Assists Chief Conduct Officer with Community Compact Compliance.
Collaborates with COVID testing staff to ensure testing compliance and follow up.
Maintains oversight of any COVID onboarding process, including liaison with Student Health Services.
Assists the Assistant Director with hall opening/closing, interim housing (including the modular units), hall access, housing lottery, health and safety inspections, and room changes.
Assists the Assistant Director with training residence hall staff on residence hall opening/closing, interim housing, facilities management, and facility administration topics.
Coordinates residential inspections with Facilities Management and Building & Residential Services staff.
Oversees reporting and follow-up of maintenance and building service concerns. - Manages furniture inventory for residential facilities and recommends and orders additional inventory.
Responds to student and parents/families residential inquiries and concerns , - Serve as a conduct officer for the College.
Maintains and supports the College's philosophy of conduct.
Counsels students with regard to housing-related issues. - Assists in selection and training of student staff.
Attends campus events to emphasize a collaborative effort in education. - Attends departmental and Campus Life meetings.
Assists with departmental administrative tasks and coordinates assigned departmental projects.
Participates in other Campus Life and College activities.
Opportunity to co-facilitate a first-year seminar. - Participates in professional development endeavors.
Performs other duties as assigned.
A bachelor's degree in student personnel, higher education, counseling or a related field and one year of residential life, housing, or programming experience.
Should possess a demonstrated commitment to diversity and working with diverse populations.
A high level of interaction with students is expected.
A master's degree and two years of post-master's experience is preferred.
NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
