Emory Healthcare/Emory University Visiting Assistant Professor/Instructor of Sociology in Oxford, Georgia

Located 36 miles east of Atlanta on Emory’s original campus in Oxford, Georgia, Oxford College invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor/Visiting Instructor in Sociology, to begin August 1, 2024. This is a one-year, benefits eligible, position with a 3-3 load. Courses will be in person. Responsibilities include teaching three courses each semester, consisting of two sections of Introduction to Sociology. The position will also teach one section of an intermediate-level foundation course each semester, which could include Class, Status, and Power, Culture and Society, Sociology of Sex and Gender, Sociological Aspects of Health and Illness, or Individual and Society. We seek a candidate with a commitment to inclusive teaching for a diverse student population and a strong appreciation for Oxford College’s student-centered mission.
