The Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE), a not-for-profit organization, and Affiliate of Emory University, seeks a highly-capable SharePoint support analyst.


  • Supports a major IT platform/application or multiple smaller platforms/applications utilized by an operating unit to achieve departmental or program objectives.

  • Serves as the primary contact for internal inquiries pertaining to resolving issues with application functionality and error resolution, and communicates directly with departmental customers to understand and resolve issues in an efficient and timely manner.

  • With the assistance of external and internal application designers and technical support, troubleshoots and resolves common problems with the system.

  • Works with departmental leadership and outside consultants to identify future changes, extensions, and customizations of the system.

  • Designs and executes routine system audits to ensure proper functionality of the system, as well as integrity of data being processed by the system.

  • Writes ad hoc and routine queries, and creates custom reports for management.

  • Ensures system security, including management of user roles and access rights.

  • May supervise other staff member.

  • Performs other related duties as required.


  • Installing the SharePoint platform, integrating applications, and creating libraries.

  • Adding users, controlling access to document libraries, and setting permissions.

  • Performing maintenance of the SharePoint platform, servers, and intranet.

  • Troubleshooting and resolving SharePoint issues or malfunctions.

  • Providing SharePoint support and end-user training.

  • Performing data retrieval and backup procedures to prevent data loss.

  • Ensuring sufficient storage space by performing clean-ups and archiving data.

  • Reviewing usage and activity reports and making adjustments to ensure optimized user-experiences.

  • Maintaining network infrastructure, as well as managing encryption, security zones, and firewalls.

  • Keeping up to date with SharePoint developments and performing version updates and upgrades.


  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or other related degree and one year of related experience in SharePoint application/administration or, an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Knowledge of SharePoint tools, including ULS Logs, workflows, and SharePoint forms for tasks.


  • Extensive knowledge of Windows operating systems, as well as SQL Server, Power BI, PowerShell and Office 365.

  • Superb collaboration, interpersonal, and communication skills.

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent organization and time-management skills.

  • Non-profit experience.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department of work. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
