Description

ACPE seeks an exceptional Director of Member Engagement to join its national staff as a key member of the team. This individual will play a vital role in enhancing the collective membership experience by overseeing the cultivation of the professional community and increasing the general sense of well-being and belonging for all members.

The successful candidate will manage the coordination and execution of member engagement opportunities, e.g., Communities of Practice (CoP), geographically based gatherings, annual events, etc. They will also serve as the chief liaison in support of professional member processes including accreditation and certification. The Director of Member Engagement will contribute to ACPE workforce pipeline initiatives by helping to devise and implement member recruitment and retention strategies for the association.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Membership Engagement including Recruitment and Retention –

  • Build, strengthen, and maintain relationships throughout ACPE membership in order to create a sense of ‘professional home’ and belonging for all in accordance with ACPE’s Code of Ethics and commitment to being an anti-bias association.

  • Serve as Staff Liaison to the Professional Well-Being (PWB) Committee to ensure appropriate levels of engagement and support for all members.

  • Create and manage a small team of Member Engagement Specialists to assist with relationship management, COPs, geographical gatherings, etc.

  • Collaborate with ACPE Staff and designated committees to plan and execute annual, educational, and special member events; and ensure the proper recording of all pertinent data points for each member engagement activity (including COPs).

  • Partner with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, staff, and key members to devise and implement a data-driven member engagement, retention, and recruitment strategy.

  • Collaborate with Finance Staff to support timely dues payments/renewals.

  • Work with the Fundraising Staff to attract and secure new/elevated member benefits.

Communities of Practice (CoPs) –

  • Serve as Staff Liaison to Professional Well-Being (PWB) Committee to help ensure its duties and main objectives are continually met in response to ACPE’s strategic planning.

  • Oversee the management of CoPs to make certain there is optimal alignment with the ACPE mission, strategic objectives, and fiscal responsibilities at all times. This includes recommendations to establish, consolidate, and/or dissolve CoPs when necessary.

Partner with ACPE staff colleagues to:

  • Review/revise, when necessary, the administrative infrastructure for CoPsActively manage the consistent provision of top-tier support from the national office

  • Develop and implement CoP communications plan; and oversee coordination of CoP quarterly reports to ACPE Board of Directors.

Professional Development and Member Processes -

  • Liaise with Certified Educators (CEs) in support of ACPE professional processes including accreditation and certification.

  • Partner with Accreditation and Certification Commissions and staff to quickly resolve process issues and ensure timely responses to all inquiries.

  • Collaborate with PWB in managing CEs peer reviews, including issuing reminders; tracking, reviewing, and approving submissions; and analyzing reviews for trends that may require elevated attention.

  • Assist, when invited by CEs, with center administration matters.

Other Duties - As assigned by Executive Director.

Competencies:

  • Familiarity with the needs, hopes, and resources of educators, spiritual care practitioners, and therapists.

  • Strong relationship cultivation skills with commitment to a high level of customer service.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to interact effectively with members and customers outside the organization.

  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills and ability to anticipate needs, determine priorities, and meet deadlines consistently.

  • Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail.

  • Experience with database management; comfort with learning new software and applications.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including SharePoint.

  • Ability to prioritize and follow through effectively.

Expected Hours and Travel:

  • Full time; hybrid position.

  • Work hours between 7am and 7pm, M-F.

  • Approximately 40% travel required throughout the year.

  • Weekends and evenings will be required for annual meetings and events.

Required Education and Experience:

  • ACPE Certified Educator with deep knowledge of the association’s unique standards for experiential learning and a proven-track record for successfully delivering necessary, high-quality outcomes.

  • Master’s degree in theology, education, or related field; plus 5-10 years’ experience in organizational learning.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • ACPE Certified Educator with deep knowledge of the association's unique standards for experiential learning and a proven-track record for successfully delivering necessary, high-quality outcomes.

  • A master's degree in theology, education, or related field, and five years of experience in organizational learning or related field (up to ten years preferred), OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Familiarity with the needs, hopes, and resources of educators, spiritual care practitioners, and therapists.

  • Experience with database management; comfort with learning new software and applications.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including SharePoint.
