The role of Emory PGP Asthma, Allergy and Immunology Clinical Director will be committed to serving patients, providers, staff, and the organization by:

  • Partnering with nursing and administrative leaders to ensure quality, effectiveness, and safety of clinic operations, and professional medical services in the Division.

  • Participating in strategic decisions that affect the practice (space planning, recruitment, etc.).

  • Participating in the annual budget development process in partnership with the Division and Department Administration team.

  • In collaboration with administrative partners, set clinical productivity targets and expectations on an individual basis and evaluate and address concerns throughout the year.

  • Supervising professional practice operations and evaluating the clinical performance of providers in the Division (quality, availability, proficiency, productivity, efficiency, compliance). As necessary address professional practice concerns with individual providers and escalate as appropriate. The AAI Clinical Director will be responsible for addressing issues and concerns from providers, staff, patient relations, etc. as it relates to provider behavior.

  • Being available to meet and collaborate with leaders from other Divisions/Departments/Centers, School of Medicine, and Hospitals.

  • Organize physician schedule availability in conjunction with site leaders, including inpatient service coverage and outpatient clinic and procedural sessions as necessary.

The Clinical Director will report directly to the Division Director of Pulmonary, Allergy, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine.

  • This position will be responsible for organizing and leading a high-volume clinic that sees complex Asthma Allergy patients in an environment within a large teaching clinic, recruiting additional faculty and the integration of APP’s into the section. The existing fellowship and research program is successful.

Required Qualifications, Certifications, Background:

  • Candidate must be at an Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level and have skills and experience in directing a busy clinic in a complex healthcare system. Candidate should be a Certified Allergist/Immunologist.
